The Opportunity
Netflix is the world's leading Internet TV network, with over 104 million members in over 190 countries enjoying more than 125 million hours of TV shows and movies per day. We are also aggressively pushing our initiative in producing and licensing unscripted content, including talk shows, competition, and docuseries. The Content Distribution team is central to these efforts; our mission is to is effectively and efficiently maximize quality and availability of our catalog to our members around the world. We're seeking a manager to lead a team in this growing space.
The Role
The Content Distribution Manager will manage a team and assess the operational strategy of international distribution to provide the best customer experience at global scale. S/he will also spearhead projects cross-functionally to enable our supply chain during the continued expansion of the Netflix service and catalog. S/he will recruit great talent and develop team members by challenging them to grow outside their comfort zones.
The Responsibilities
• Lead the team of Content Distribution Project Managers who are responsible for successfully launching both Original and licensed unscripted content worldwide
• Set context effectively for your team and empower them to drive innovation and impact for the business
• Build bench strength on your team and cultivate leaders
• Maintain high-alignment on strategic goals with cross-functional partners (Content Acquisitions, Post Production, Legal, etc.) by providing clear verbal and written context
• Evaluate operational workflow for efficiency and scalability; identify challenges and provide innovative solutions
• Partner with engineering teams to identify automation opportunities within toolset
• Effectively utilize data to support business goals
• Embody the Netflix culture and values; provide constructive and actionable real-time feedback to team and colleagues
The Right Stuff
• Prior team leadership, people management, recruiting, and hiring experience required
• Prior experience in international home entertainment, digital supply chain, or VOD/SVOD distribution
• Prior experience working with unscripted content preferred, but not required
• Strong understanding of post production workflows, schedules, and delivery
• Depth of experience with digital content assets
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Remain nimble and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
• Confidence to own and drive decisions
