The Opportunity
Netflix is looking for an attorney who will be responsible for a wide array of development, acquisition (licensing) and production matters related to Netflix's content programming. The successful candidate will structure, negotiate and draft agreements to commission, develop and produce local programming with various content partners, and should be extremely comfortable counseling internal stakeholders and making decisions that have both legal and business impacts.
The position is based in Seoul, South Korea.
Responsibilities
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including: content license agreements under varying deal types, development and production agreements, IP agreements, ATL agreements, etc
• Conduct legal analysis on and handle issues arising through the lifecycle of content production and exploitation
• Provide guidance to external production partners
• Maintain close alignment with multiple internal cross-functional partners
• Manage, maintain, and update various templates
Qualifications
• Minimum of 4-7 years of experience as an attorney, and membership in good standing in at least one jurisdiction
• Fluency in both Korean and English
• Strong business acumen, analytical capabilities and judgment. We value practical, solution-oriented thinking.
• Proven ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes & deadlines.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
• Preferred: A background in IP/entertainment teams at a law firm or experience in the media or entertainment industry as an in house counsel.
