Associate, Investor Relations & Corporate Research

We are Netflix's Corporate Research & Investor Relations team. Our focus is on monitoring the competitive dynamics of the entertainment industry, evaluating new businesses and adjacencies, and building strategic dialog with our investors. On this team, we collaborate with several teams across the business daily (e.g. functional strategy teams, corporate development, FP&A, etc.). Senior leadership depends heavily on this team to accurately model and forecast the ecosystem as well as to lead strategic analyses to inform important business decisions and communications with our shareholders.

Candidates are required to be highly analytical and effective communicators. Prior experience in a role with an emphasis on written communication is strongly preferred. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of performing comprehensive analyses independently and proactively. Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, focus on generating results and exhibit the highest standards of integrity and ethics.

This role will report directly to the Director, Corporate Research & IR and will sit in our offices in Los Angeles, CA.

A sample of work could include:
• Developing investment theses on adjacent business opportunities and building go-to-market strategies in coordination with corporate development and embedded operational teams
• Regularly create and present analyses on business opportunities in an easy-to-understand format to senior business leaders such as the CFO, head of IR, etc.
• Executing market research and analyzing competitive trends to inform company investment decisions
• Actively monitoring our public and private competitive peers (e.g. SEC filings, investor day materials, etc.) to understand strategies and report on key developments
• Creating materials to support our investor relations activities (e.g. earnings prep) and helping to evolve our external metrics

Desired qualifications:
• 2 years of experience in finance, strategy, and/or consulting roles; other highly analytical backgrounds are encouraged to apply
• Strong financial modeling skills and experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis as well as an understanding of public company financial filings and valuation methodologies
• Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills with a track record of preparing complex analyses for executives/senior management
• An understanding of the media industry (having worked in a studio, production company, agency, distributor, or professional services in support of one of these) is a plus though not required
• Strong organization skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and to deliver work under tight timeline
• Proficiency with MS Excel & PowerPoint; working knowledge of statistics
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics or other relevant field

The overall market range for roles in this area of Netflix is typically $60,000 - $290,000.
