JOB TITLE: Production Finance Lead (JR9603636)
JOB DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Partner with cross functional teams to create and manage production budgets and staffing schedules.
• Provide and present clear, accurate and timely production planning scenarios and analysis to both Producers and cross functional teams during the life cycle of a film. This includes weekly asset and quota reports.
• Ascertain and solve budgeting and staffing issues.
• Collaborate with Producers to quickly estimate and evaluate production health against milestones and data metrics.
• Create budgets and summaries that provide metrics and data that can be shared broadly to ensure cross functional alignment and well-informed decision making.
• Adapt to changing scenarios, anticipate problems and recommend solutions to Producers.
• Provide accurate, detailed and timely cost reports, financial status reports, cash flows and headcount forecasts.
• Ensure production complies with all policies and procedures (e.g. accounts payable, time card submission deadlines, etc.).
• When necessary, approve artists timecards, invoices, Above-The-Line (''ATL'') payments, etc.
• Update and maintain payment trackers and outstanding commitments.
• Review animation vendor bids, productions schedules, ATL deal terms, quota schedules, other financial and production reports. Provide analysis and advice production on risk and opportunities. Process milestone invoices according to SOW. Research and resolve outstanding payment issues.
• Guide Production Finance Analysts on all aspects of their job to ensure compliance, accuracy and timely processing of all payments and data compilation on their projects.
• Mentor Production Finance Analysts to ensure strong work performance.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
May work from home when not reporting to the Netflix Animation Burbank, CA office.
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, or related field and 5 years of work experience as a Production Accounting, Production Finance, Finance Planning & Analytics (FP&A), Content Accounting or related occupation.
Must possess expertise/ knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise/ knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education.
Such expertise/ knowledge cannot be ''quantified'' by ''time.'' Required expertise/ knowledge includes:
• Processing and working with SAG, and IA pay practices (IA 839 and IA 700).
• GAAP and cost accounting.
• Budgeting.
• Revenue recognition.
• Financial trend analysis.
• Foreign exchange calculations. (Experience on at least one animated feature production that spans multiple countries).
• Help create, manage and publish production schedules, asset tracking, quota schedules, crew trackers.
• Build and present presentation decks to executive leadership.
• Animation pipelines demonstrated through completion of at least 3 animated feature films in the role of Production Finance.
• Animation/VFX production tax incentives through compilation of data & audit participation on at least 3 tax credit filings.
• Participation in preparation and review of animation residuals and subs and dub estimation for high budget animation films.
• Understand, give input, and optimize high complexity production finance and accounting workflows for e.g. initiation of new payroll system in a production finance environment, initiation and implementation of a new cost reporting system or workflow in a production finance environment.
TRAVEL:
Travel to Vancouver, Canada 3-4 times per year (8% of year) to attend meetings with production leadership.

Salary/Benefits
$118,435 - $175,000 / per year. 40 hours per week.
