NEON is seeking a Los Angeles-based Director of Publicity to both support and spearhead their publicity campaigns. The ideal candidate will be proactive and detail-oriented with an emphasis on organizational skills, have the ability to adapt and operate within a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong communication skills.
Qualifications
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to exercise good judgment in high-stress situations
- Ability to lead theatrical publicity campaigns, including managing agencies, collaborating across multiple departments, and liaising with talent representatives, filmmakers, and partners
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, exercised in writing press releases, talking points, pitches, talent and filmmaker communications, press notes, etc.
- Detail-oriented with an ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple responsibilities and deadlines
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key journalists
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings and have the willingness to travel as needed
- Being resourceful and innovative in crafting strategy and dealing with complications as they arise
- Ability to work within a team and lend assistance wherever needed, to reach common department and company goals
Responsibilities
- Strategize, structure, and execute publicity campaigns for theatrical film releases and awards campaigns
- Collaborate across multiple departments to generate ideas for campaigns
- Generate research for upcoming films and projects
- Pitch press and maintain relationships with key journalists
- Management both internally and externally, with agencies and within our department
- Ensure there is a clear line of communication between the publicity department and other departments within NEON, filmmakers, key partners, and talent representatives
