Neko Productions is an animation company in Studio City, CA that produces a vast range of projects from TV and digital content, games, short films, and much more.
Our team is looking for a passionate CG Generalist. The right candidate will be someone who is able to rig props, rig the environment assets, review/ quality control the models and UVs of 3D assets (including characters, sets, props, vehicles and organic elements.
The job requires an understanding of design, modeling, basic rigging, and surfacing. Experience with Maya.
You do not have to live in Los Angeles to apply- remote applications will be accepted.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ability to rig simple environment props
- Translate 2D designs and storyboards into 3D objects.
- Review the modelers construction of models, vehicles, props and/or environmental models in alignment with the determined creative style and direction of a project.
- Review / quality control textures and the models based on the determined look of a show.
- Collaborate with the animation team to ensure models are structured in such a way to achieve intended performance requirements.
- Adapt assets to be reused as new assets.
- Interpret and implement notes and feedback in a timely and acceptable way.
Requirements:
- Experience working in 3D animation
- Understanding of basic rigging, texturing, UVs, lighting 3D principles and techniques
- Proficiency using a variety of tools including Maya, Arnold, Nuke
- Previous experience being part of 3d Animation/rigging team and understanding of animation/rigging techniques
- Working knowledge of human and animal anatomy, physical motion, weight, balance and form
- Working knowledge and understanding of Maya
- Excellent visual communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritise and problem solve
- Excellent attention to detail
- Flexibility; ability to work with minimum supervision and problem solve.
- Solid organizational skills with adherence to file structures, naming conventions; clean and organized files.
