Job Description:
Neko Productions is an animation company in Studio City, CA that produces a vast range of projects from TV and digital content, games, short films, and much more.
Our team is looking for a passionate 3D Lighting & Compositing Artist. The right candidate will be someone who is able to:
1. Consult with the Supervisor regarding the technical implementation of lighting and lighting design ideas through the configuration of rigged lighting
2. Light 3D animation in Maya and in Arnold
3. Composite 3D Animated in Nuke
The job requires an understanding of lighting, characters, layout, environment, and continuity between shots. Candidates must have a good understanding of compositing, and light presence.
Experience with Maya, Arnold and Nuke.
You do not have to live in Los Angeles to apply- remote applications will be accepted.
Job Responsibilities:
Ensure the lighting compositions aligns with the Director's vision.
Ensure the lighting is both accurate and achieving the right mood, consistent with the Director's vision
Perform the lighting rig configurations as indicated by the CG supervisor.
Report to the Production Manager and ensure that you are able to deliver within the allocated time frame.
Apply a composition workflow that preserves and enhances the creative intent of lighting when needed, from rendering to color adjustment.
Ensure that the lighting rigs are suitable for other departments and that they can be rendered as part of the technical infrastructure of the movie.
Requirements:
In-depth knowledge of high-end 3D software, Maya, Arnold and Nuke
Advanced level in image composition, lighting and color
Knowledge of materials and shaders an asset
Experience working in 3D animation
Previous experience being part of lighting and/or compositing team
Excellent visual communication skills
Ability to multitask, prioritise and problem solve
Excellent attention to detail
Flexibility; ability to work with minimum supervision and problem solve.
Solid organizational skills with adherence to file structures, naming conventions; clean and organized files.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
