Job Title: Weekend Writer/Editor

Key Responsibilities:
• Write and publish 5-7 pieces of content daily, including trending news stories, galleries, interviews, and breaking news
• Meet tight deadlines while providing clear, clean copy
• Edit junior writers' copy, offering feedback on grammar, style, tone, and fact-checking
• Self-edit when necessary
• Spearhead weekend coverage, determining the strongest news stories to pursue and publishing them efficiently
• Identify and pitch viral trends, news stories, and celebrities that drive page views, social traffic, and engagement
• Create clever angles, second beats, and attention-grabbing headlines
• Use analytics to assess story performance and suggest follow-up angles to boost page views and engagement
• Pitch and conduct interviews with celebrities, writing timely articles from the strongest angles
• Work alongside the team during tentpole events, writing in real time during red carpets, award shows, and other events
• Collaborate with the social team to promote content and post on E! social accounts when needed
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• 4 years of experience writing sharp, deadline-driven copy, preferably in entertainment news
• Strong writing skills aligned with the E! voice
• Proficient in SEO and analytics
• Strong news judgment and understanding of the E! audience
