Responsibilities Role Summary
The Vice President, Human Resources has overall responsibility for the design, development and delivery of effective HR strategies and plans in the areas of workforce and resource planning, talent acquisition and retention, succession planning, and compensation strategies for the Bravo, Oxygen, E!, Esquire and Sprout Networks. This person will develop and manage a team of bi-coastal HR professionals and provide appropriate delegation, feedback and coaching to ensure retention of top talent. This position reports to the EVP HR and Diversity Outreach for Cable Entertainment with a dotted line to the President, Lifestyle Networks.
Responsibilities
• Become a part of the Lifestyles Portfolio senior leadership team, working with the business leaders and key stakeholders to establish HR strategic vision needed to support and drive the businesses.
• Lead and leverage HR processes and drive key HR initiatives including staffing, performance management, compensation planning, succession planning, training and development, rewards & recognition, recruitment and retention, organizational effectiveness and employee communication.
• Partner and collaborate with various business leaders on growth strategies and cost challenges; provide HR guidance and input on decisions and execute in order to enable these strategies
• Work with managers to build a career path for employees, identifying opportunities for training, new skill acquisition, and advancement
• Work closely with Labor Relations, Employment Law and Contracts departments on addressing employee concerns, resolving grievances or disputes, proactively solving workplace issues, and furthering NBCU's relationships with its employees in both the union and non-union portions of its businesses
• Manage employee contract negotiations, extensions, performance issues and terminations in collaboration with the Legal Department and corporate Human Resources
• Help to drive change within the organization, to include adoption of new technologies, integration of key new growth businesses and workflows, staffing models, and organization structures
• Uncover, assess and propose opportunities for HR process and strategic improvements
• Provide interpretation of HR policies, practices and procedures to employees and managers
• Work with business leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive work environment, which encourages the full use of diverse talents and abilities; act as an employee advocate; help drive various corporate and division business initiatives
• Lead, manage, and develop the Bravo, Oxygen, E!, Esquire and Sprout HR Teams; providing direction and identifying development, improvement and engagement opportunities that support and encourage high performance
• Develop and drive diversity initiatives in partnership with the Lifestyle Network portfolio, Cable Entertainment and Corporate Diversity teams Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications
• BA/BS in Human Resources or related field
• Minimum of 10 years professional HR experience, and with demonstrated experience in managing staff and client groups

• Ability to coach and counsel both employees and executive-level management
• Strong business partnership and ability to establish credibility and rapport with operating leaders
• Open and easily approachable
• Must be detail-oriented and organized, with excellent follow-through and analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team of HR professionals
• Graduate degree in Human Resources, MBA or related field and/or PHR/SPHR certified preferred
• Experience or interest in media and media-adjacent industry a plus
