JOB OVERVIEW
The Retail Marketing Director EMEA will drive the development and execution of retail programs in line with Brand guidelines and business objectives with the goal of delivering maximum value at point of sale. Retail Marketing will range from BTL activities to sophisticated multi-level retail activation including ATL support.
The position will focus primarily on supporting our Key Accounts within the top 5 EMEA markets but will also support our network of Agents.
This role will work as part of the EMEA Consumer Products team, supporting the VP of Retail while also maintaining strong relationships with the retailers and local market teams. The job requires travel within Europe and some other International locations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Retail Expertise:
• Manage relationships and develop retail marketing programs with key EMEA retail accounts across Hardlines, Lifestyle & Loyalty
• Maintain a catalogue of competitors' retail programs & share best practices/results with broader team
• Stay up to date on retail and marketing trends across the region utilizing key data and insights
• Creation of digital campaigns with key retailers aligned with the Ecommerce EMEA Director.
Retail Planning:
• Identify core retail marketing concepts/messages for each Franchise to create differentiation across key accounts
• Coordinate with EMEA Franchise team, and Universal Retail & Marketing teams in US to ensure creative is consistent and on brand for key global accounts (ie Amazon)
• Create and identify effective sales and marketing materials to be used for meetings, trade shows, retail road shows, and events, aligned with Franchise direction
• Provide clear retail marketing direction to in market Retail & marketing teams
• Proactively conceptualize and develop cross promotions with other Universal divisions on behalf of licensees, retailers and digital partners.
Retail Execution:
• Manage execution and account management of assigned marketing partnerships with EMEA retail accounts through product lifecycle; including in store, digital, social, activities & experiential.
• Briefing external agencies (when appropriate) in the development of retail concepts
• Managing the Trade Marketing budget and ROI metrics
• Approving all retail marketing submissions from licensees, agents or retailers
• Responsible for organizing meetings and film/TV/Property presentations with the retailers and collaborating with the brand group on pitch materials and idea generation
Post Analysis
• Provides comprehensive marketing program recaps and post analysis including measurable results, ROI, and how we compare to competitive programs
• Maintains examples of best in class programs to help drive the planning process and close loop
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Extensive experience with retail/trade marketing, promotions or packaged goods experience with significant experience creating large scale programs
• Deep knowledge of retail business including retail marketing tactics, promotional partners/packaged goods, home entertainment, consumer products and digital execution
• Exceptional creative sensibilities and problem solving skills
• Excellent relationship management and influencing skills with the demonstrated ability to close large deals
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively and consistently with supervisor, colleagues and cross divisional stakeholders
• Ability to travel
