Quality Assurance Copy Specialist
Do you love the English language? Do you like TV? Does a tYpO or bad grammer drive you nutz? If so, you may have what it takes to be a Quality Assurance Copy Specialist! This is a part-time freelance position for nbc.com.
Responsibilities:
• Proofread and copyedit a high volume of promotional copy and web prose.
• Ensure that all copy adheres to NBC brand and NBC.com house style standards and guidelines.
• Fact-check and perform light research duties to ensure accuracy of information presented.
• Create new copy templates as new site features are implemented.
• Assist with functional quality assurance tasks as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
• Excellent knowledge of American English spelling, grammar and punctuation.
• Must be web-savvy: current with rapidly evolving and quickly changing online style trends and standards.
• Self-managing and able to function effectively within a team.
• Sharp eyes, extremely detail-oriented.
• Must complete proofreading and editing test, as well as a functional QA test.
• Technical and functional QA experience is highly desired. The position requires both copyediting and functional QA testing.
• Proofreading experience preferred.

The Quality Assurance (QA) Copy Specialist reports to the Senior QA Manager and works closely with the QA team to ensure all copy published to NBC.com adheres to site standards and is free of spelling, grammar and punctuation errors. The ideal candidate will also be culturally sensitive to both television viewers and the online environment; this person will be able to edit for NBC's broad audience as well as the astute online demographic. A passion for television, copy, and quality is a must.
