This is a Part Time Paid Internship
• Assist with planning community meetings and receptions for 50-100 people
• Refresh stations’ partner and influencer lists
• Research feature opportunities for community segments and shows
• Write engaging solution-focused articles for station websites
• Assist with planning and set up of dynamic live shots in the community
• Thought leader on digital community engagement opportunities
• Demonstrate good judgment, resourcefulness, confidence, and a positive attitude in response to viewer comments and requests
• Utilize Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other programs in execution of assignments
• Must be able to manage multiple assignments with short deadlines
• Spanish language writing and speaking proficiency a plus
Schedule requirements: Hybrid work arrangement with minimum two days per week in office. Days flexible and dependent on tasks to be completed. Some early mornings, evenings and weekends based on department needs and intern availability.

QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Requirements:
• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2025 through April 2026). December 2025 graduates are not eligible for our 2025-2026 Academic Year Program.
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States throughout the entire duration of the internship (September 2025 to April 2026). Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week
• Must be willing to work in Washington, DC
Desired Characteristics
Desired Backgrounds Include: Journalism or Broadcast Journalism, Digital/New Media Studies, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Production, English, Social Media, Research.
• Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) both written and verbal
• Previous internship experience or on-campus involvement
• Ability to work effectively in a high-intensity environment, often under tight deadline pressures
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Strong interest in and demonstrated knowledge of current affairs
• Excellent computer skills (especially search skills)
The hourly rate for student interns is $17.95
INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ATTENDING U.S. UNIVERSITIES:
To participate in NBCUniversal’s 2025-2026 Academic Year internship program, you must confirm at the time of interview that you will be able to provide US work authorization documentation for the entire duration of the internship. Since the NBCU Academic Year Internship Program spans the traditional “Fall” and “Spring” semesters, you should talk to the DSO at your school’s International Students Services Office about your need to apply for CPT work authorization twice to ensure you are authorized to work both semesters and throughout the entirety of the program.
Please also note that future visa sponsorship at NBCUniversal is rarely available for post-grad employment opportunities.
