We are seeking a talented and experienced News Photographer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for storytelling, the technical expertise to capture high-quality visuals, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments. This role requires a passion for journalism, strong editing skills, and the flexibility to cover breaking news and scheduled events.
This is a project/limited term position, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Capture high-quality video for news stories and features.
• Plan and execute video shoots, including location scouting, lighting setup, camera positioning, and sound recording.
• Collaborate closely with reporters and editors to ensure visuals align with the story’s narrative.
• Travel to various locations to cover breaking news, live events, and in-depth feature stories.
• Edit and prepare video content for daily assignments using industry-standard equipment.
• Maintain ethical journalism standards, ensuring accuracy and integrity in visual storytelling.
• Manage and maintain camera equipment, ensuring all gear is in top working condition.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, new technology, and best practices in news photography.
• Work efficiently under tight deadlines to deliver impactful and timely stories.
• Salary range $90,000 - $92,000
Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Experience: Minimum 4-5 years of professional news photography experience.
• Technical Skills:
• Proven expertise in shooting and editing news content.
• Strong understanding of composition, lighting, and storytelling.
• Proficiency in Avid Media Composer and other non-linear editing software.
• Experience with professional video camera equipment and live shot setup, including LiveU operation.
• Familiarity with FTP processes for content delivery.

Additional Skills
• Innovative storytelling with an eye for compelling visuals.
• Deep understanding of digital trends and multimedia production.
• Experience operating specialty cameras (DSLRs, GoPro’s, etc.).
• FAA Part 107 drone license preferred.
• Physical & Travel Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of equipment.
• Comfortable shouldering an ENG camera for extended periods.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
• Other Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and workflows.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
