NBCUniversal Team is looking for a Manager of Production & Event Security to join our Global Security Team in University City, CA. In this role you'll assist in providing security oversight and logistics for all NBCU Productions (Feature Film, Cable, Television, Lifestyle Networks) and Special Events during the planning and execution phases of all operations globally.
This role reports to the Director of Production & Event Security and will work closely with all NBCUniversal production & event teams to ensure the necessary resources, policies, and processes are in place to protect the company's employees, physical property, intellectual property, and operations regardless of security staff or vendors involved. This role will also support corporate needs, by nurturing close partnerships with many internal executive leaders and external vendors.
What You'll Do…
Work directly with NBCU Production business units in the planning and execution phase of all remote filming to include: Risk assessments, security plans, securing appropriate vendors, travelling to remotes when required, conducting post-mortems to identify lessons learned and identifying opportunities for efficiency.
Provide security consulting services with Production Executives, Producers, & Unit Production Managers and staff to evaluate script concepts and locations for safety and security concerns and risks.
Quickly recognize and resolve various production security issues that arise during the course of production activities.
Respond timely to the various production business units of all security emergencies and incidents, with accurate documentation, while following all NBCU security processes and procedures.
Develop partnerships with relevant cross-functional executive leadership throughout the company for increased business knowledge and proactive security prevention.
Develop and maintain effective business relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement and emergency response government agencies.
Act as a liaison with local, state and federal law enforcement, government agencies and investigators for all security emergencies and incidents in support of NBCU's global productions.
Provide security services and oversight to our Special Events team for premieres, award shows, press junkets, press tours or activations at major events.
Work closely with the Global Security organization to identify synergies in vendor relationships, opportunities to partner with other Global Corporate Security team members; ensure use of updated policies and procedures and develop a regular communication rhythm with the Global Response & Intelligence Center team.
Provide assistance, guidance, consultation and coordination to other NBCUniversal departments including Human Resources, Legal, Investigations, etc when appropriate.

What You Must Have:
Minimum 5 years of production and/or special event security experience combined with a background in law enforcement/military, at the local, state or federal level, or a related role within a corporation with a proven track record of professional success
Minimum 2 years of experience in engaging, managing and working with security vendors
Bachelor's degree preferred in Criminal Justice, International Studies, Public Policy, Public Administration, or related field
Willing and able to work night, weekend, and holiday hours as needed
Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time as needed
Bonus Points If This Describes You:
Previous entertainment or media experience with a thorough understanding of motion picture and television production including process, terminology, organizational structure, and content protection protocols
Previous entertainment or media experience in planning and executing security plans for publicity related events
A valid State of California Concealed Weapons Permit
