Responsibilities
NBC Bay Area is looking for a dynamic, passionate and experienced investigative reporter to join our award-winning team of journalists. The successful candidate will be expected to enterprise and produce ground-breaking investigative news stories and contribute to major breaking news events. We pride ourselves as an organization dedicated to holding the powerful accountable and uncovering truth. The applicant should be experienced in delivering meaningful and impactful stories quickly for our broadcast and digital platforms. We are looking for an aggressive journalist who is eager to dig beneath the surface on big stories of the day as well as enterprise original content, and experiment with telling stories in a non-traditional way to reach new audiences across any device. This is not an entry level position.
Responsibilities
• Research, develop, write, and produce ground-breaking investigative news stories
• Generate investigative news projects of various lengths for all platforms
• Contribute research, analysis, and report on major breaking news events
• Develop and maintain sources that will generate exclusive reports
• Willingness to perform basic video shooting and editing as needed
Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications
• Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a television news reporter
• Exceptional reporting and storytelling skills
• Demonstrated ability to use digital platforms to reach audiences
• Understanding of how to engage audiences on social media
• Understanding of computer-assisted reporting and working with database and spreadsheet programs
• Ability to present stories for all station platforms.
• Include three examples of your best work on both broadcast and digital
Eligibility Requirements:

• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and overnights
