This is a Full Time Job
Responsibilities:
• Check shots delivered from Lighting before they are assigned to IMF artists and identify complexity of each shot.
• Provide technical and artistic support for the IMF team.
• Maintain continuity across all IMF shots within assigned sequences.
• Attend meetings as necessary when the IMF Supervisor is not available.
• Collaborate with IMF Supervisor to review artists’ work in IMF Internal Dailies.
• Present IMF artists’ work to CG Supervisor(s) for approval.
• Troubleshoot and debug problems when they arise. Know when a problem needs to be handed off to a TD, properly document any issues in a Jira.
• Collaborate with the IMF Supervisor in the development of new workflows, best practices and standards.
• Help IMF Supervisor with training curriculum and documenting for reference.
• Assist with interviews and recruiting as required.
• Use compositing tools to digitally alter frames using compositing techniques.
• Use compositing principles, experience, and techniques to complete shot work, consumer products work and special projects to submit for review.
• Manage personal shot load based on the schedule for a given sequence.
• Be adaptable and ready to reprioritize when production needs shift.
• Lead by example in fostering a good working atmosphere.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
• 3 years of compositing and stereoscopic work experience in a production environment.
• Proficient and strong understanding of the latest versions of software such as Nuke and Photoshop.
• Candidates for this position must have paint and compositing experience.
• Must have a strong conceptual understanding of composition, and an eye for light, shadow, and color.
• Strong skills in both 2D and 3D tracking, 3D projection, articulate rotoscope, color correction, and general problem solving.
• Strong trouble-shooting skills to explore large compositing scripts, created by other departments to troubleshoot and fix issues.
• Adhere to deadlines. Previous experience prioritizing and managing time efficiently for quick turnarounds.
Desired Qualifications
• Experience in a Linux-based operating system is highly desirable.
• Experience in feature animation and knowledge of a 3D animation pipeline, including previous feature animation production experience on stereoscopic films.
• Previous experience leading a team.
• Proven track record of successful partnerships with other departments.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Programming or scripting experience is a plus.
• Shotgun knowledge preferred.
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
