O&TS supports NBCUniversal's portfolio of broadcast, cable and film businesses. O&TS includes domestic television production operations, Universal Studio operations, global technical operations, information technology, and media products & advanced technologies. O&TS also includes corporate service functions, including environmental health & safety, facilities, and security & crisis management.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Provide Human Resources support for a rapidly growing, multi-function technology organization. Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Provide broad locational HR support for Technology division, participate in and lead division and corporate HR initiatives.
• Drive strategic HR-related planning, organization design & integration, staffing, compensation planning, manager coaching, employee development, compliance and performance management.
• Manage key HR initiatives, including: succession planning, performance management, training advisement, organization planning, compensation planning and title standardization.
• Provide HR leadership to employees and managers regarding employee relations issues. Assume leadership role in resolving employee relations issues and associated leadership coaching.
• Work to resolve employee and organizational issues in a proactive and positive manner.
• Interpret and implement HR policies, practices and procedures for managers, teams and individual employees that further the mission, values and strategic vision of the business.
• Work with leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive work environment, which encourages the full use of diverse talents and abilities; act as an employee advocate.
• Manage staffing process working with clients and our internal recruiting team to identify recruitment strategies as well as ensure diverse candidate slates and top quality candidate selection.
• Work closely and partner with several HR leaders to ensure consistent HR practices across related organizations.
• Play a key role in transforming the Seattle News Technology office from a culture perspective, as well as in the linkage to the overall NBCU Technology organization.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or Related Field of Study
• Minimum three years relevant HR experience including recruiting, employee development, organizational development, compliance and compensation
Eligibility Requirements
• Must be willing to work in Seattle, Washington
• Must be willing to travel for work related business as necessary
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS
• Masters degree in HR, Labor Relations, or related field
• Strong business acumen, analytical and project management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
• Excellent presentation skills
• Strong client-support orientation, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and with a wide range of clients, individually and in groups
• Demonstrated coaching/mentoring/leadership skills; change agent; results orientation; high energy; comfortable handling multiple tasks and competing priorities
• Strong employee-relations skill set; can earn trust and credibility with employees in assigned groups
• Previous experience with a technical workforce
• Demonstrated ability to translate 'big picture' business strategy into an HR plan which can be executed
• Project and process management skills, demonstrated track record of delivering results
• Previous experience working with technical teams
• Previous experience working in cable, television or entertainment industry
