Director, Programming Acquisitions - Style Network
Purpose:
This position will help manage the continued growth of the channel with forward thinking, smart scheduling strategy, and creative content acquisitions. Act as a liaison between Style’s Program Planning group and all business units across the company.
Job responsibilities:
• Help envision and execute overall programming strategy and help integrate that strategy into all areas of the company
• Execute all phases of program planning and scheduling for linear, VOD platform and program acquisitions
• Help manage, track and distribute the ongoing Programming Strategy Rollout, and effectively communicate on a short term and long term basis
• Build and distribute weekly programming grids to achieve ratings targets
• Key liaison with ad sales and ad sales research as it pertains to ongoing planning and upfront strategy including internal estimates management
• Liaise with a wide array of departments from development, marketing, digital, press and international as it pertains to ongoing scheduling stunts, initiatives, and acquired show launch strategy.
• Identify and acquire movies, specials, and series acquisitions. Includes extensive analysis of possible domestic and international acquisitions.
• Track competitive landscape and collaborate on quarterly competitive presentations
• Generate stunt and franchise opportunities for long range planning purposes and added value
• Build and verbally present ongoing PPT presentations to senior staff and other key departments on various projects throughout the year
• Oversee cross platform synergy initiatives with constant interaction with Bravo, Oxygen, E! and other NBCU programmers.
• Attend various industry markets throughout the year
• Must utilize and help work with team to meet frequent deadlines in high-pressured situations
• Additional duties as needed and assigned by supervisor
Basic qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the area of program scheduling, acquisitions and supervision experience at a network.
• Strong knowledge of Nielsen Ratings and the competitive marketplace are necessary.
