This is a Full Time Job
Universal Filmed Entertainment Group's Global Communications team seeks a Coordinator who will play a pivotal role in promoting our studio's projects, managing media relations, and enhancing our brand presence across various platforms. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of film, media, and communications, contributing to the success of our diverse slate. The role will serve as a key resource to the SVP and VP of Global Communications and Media Relations as a dual report.
Responsibilities:
• Supports SVP and VP of Media Relations and Global Communications, who handle all external communications for Universal's film division under the direction of the EVP of Global Communications and Media Relations.
• Serves as the initial point of contact for the public and Universal's Communications department.
• First point of contact and lead for all media monitoring including the use of third-party vendors, while generating weekly and monthly reports, daily clippings and weekly recaps.
• Support team on all editing and research projects and maintain a consistent understanding of media landscape and the film industry.
• Updates all relevant Communications department databases, worksheets and newsletters.
• Provides support to SVP and VP in the areas of travel, scheduling and daily needs such as implementing phone calls, conference calls, meeting agendas and engagements.
• Provides support to Communications and Publicity staff at major studio events and premieres as directed by the Special Events team.
• Supports the Communications team with planning and execution of company-sponsored special events.
• Interfaces with other divisions of the company to ensure that all requests are being met.
• Responsible for administrative duties including SAP-related accounting and office management (filing, ordering department supplies, expenses, etc.)
• Maintains press, executive and external contact lists.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an assistant or coordinator role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other applications.
• Fundamental understanding of news outlets covering the entertainment industry.
• Exceptional writing skills with the ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging content for various audiences. Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Available to work weekends as needed
Desired Characteristics:
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Highly resourceful and problem solver.
• Ability to exercise a high level of discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
• Knowledge of media relations best practices and a solid understanding of industry trends and dynamics.
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
