This is a Full Time Job
The Real-Time Graphics Specialist is responsible for the design, development, deployment, and optimization of high-quality real-time broadcast graphics for live studio and event productions. This role blends advanced creative execution with strong technical expertise to support dynamic, on-air visual storytelling.
The Specialist manages the graphics production lifecycle – from concept through live delivery – while collaborating closely with producers, directors, and technical teams. This position plays a key role in maintaining broadcast standards, improving workflows, troubleshooting live graphics issues, and contributing to innovation in augmented reality (AR), virtual reality production VR, and data-driven graphics.
This is a hands-on role requiring creativity, precision, technical depth, and the ability to perform under live broadcast deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Graphics Design & Development
• Create and customize templates and animations for live broadcasts, including lower thirds, over-the-shoulder graphics, data visualizations, touchscreen graphics, and virtual/augmented reality elements
• Develop and deploy graphics using real-time rendering engines such as Vizrt, Unreal Engine, Zero Density, Flowics, or HTML-based systems
• Plan, build, maintain, and update graphic directories and playout systems for studio and event workflows
• Translate creative direction into compelling design, animation, and layout solutions
• Optimize graphics for performance, stability, and compliance with broadcast standards
• Prepare and manage image files and assets for production use
• Ensure visual consistency and adherence to brand standards
2. Workflow Management & Process Optimization
• Manage the full graphics production pipeline from concept to on-air execution
• Organize and maintain a centralized graphics asset library with proper version control and archiving
• Establish, document, and improve efficient workflows and best practices
• Track and report on project deliverables and performance metrics
• Assist with hardware/software upgrades and studio builds
3. Collaboration & Live Production Support
• Collaborate with producers, directors, show teams, and technical staff to meet project goals
• Serve as a primary contact for troubleshooting real-time graphics issues during live broadcasts
• Support graphics playout in live event and studio environments
• Work closely with production teams to design graphics tailored to specific programs or segments
• Communicate clearly with to manage expectations and ensure timely delivery
• Independently research and resolve technical challenges
4. Innovation & Industry Advancement
• Stay current with emerging technologies in real-time graphics and broadcast production
• Explore opportunities in AR, VR, virtual studios, and data-driven storytelling
• Contribute innovative ideas that elevate production value and visual storytelling
• Continuously expand technical skillsets and share knowledge with peers
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in real-time television graphics with a strong portfolio/demo reel
• Advanced expertise in platforms such as Vizrt, Unreal Engine, Zero Density, Flowics, or similar systems
• Strong understanding of broadcast standards, live production workflows, and playout systems
• Advanced 2D and 3D animation skills with strong typography and layout abilities
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills under live broadcast pressure
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours in live production environments
Desired Characteristics
• 8 years of live broadcast graphics experience
• Familiarity with AR/VR workflows and virtual production tools
• Knowledge of 3D modeling and animation tools such as Cinema 4D, Blender, or Maya
• Experience implementing hardware/software upgrades or new studio builds
Education
• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in design, animation, broadcast technology, or related field
Work Environment
• In-office requirement: four days per week
• Must be able to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends
