Role Purpose
The Associate Counsel, Content & Production Risk will research, analyze, and advise clients regarding privacy, surveillance, trespass, aviation, and other laws and regulations related to the use of drones in television productions. This position will also help to implement NBCU's compliance policies for productions outside of the US, draft various types of music and other production-related contracts, conduct legal research, and work on production-related issues and legal matters for the Content & Production Risk group.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
• Perform thorough legal research and advise colleagues and clients
• Vet a high volume of drone shoots and footage
• Interact and liaise with internal clients and colleagues, as well as third parties
• Manage foreign compliance process for third parties producing programming for the Cable Entertainment group
• Draft, review, negotiate, analyze and interpret music and other production-related agreements
• Create, update and analyze all necessary forms
• Otherwise work with NBCU attorneys in the Content & Production Risk group, as requested
Basic Qualifications
• JD and member in good standing of the California bar, or willingness and qualification to be Registered In-House Counsel

Desired Characteristics
• Two-three+ years of experience in a professional role requiring strong analytic and organizational skills and careful attention to detail

• Experience in interacting and communicating with all levels of management
• Experience researching, analyzing and summarizing the law
• Experience with entertainment, media/technology, intellectual property and/or aviation law
• Sound business judgment, ability to work well under pressure, and flexibility/adaptability to manage multiple wide-ranging matters, conflicting deadlines, and new areas of expertise as business needs change
• Proven problem-solving skills
• Ability to develop strong client relationships with multiple business units and their representatives
• Ability to work independently and interact with legal and business personnel of all levels
• Outstanding analytic, communication (oral and written), organizational and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability, in a positive and practical manner, to proactively identify, prioritize and resolve legal issues quickly and effectively
