Job Summary:
NBCUniversal is looking for a Video Operator/Lighting Director to join the News Division, specifically working on MSNBC productions. The role involves operating cameras, directing lighting, and controlling robotic cameras to support daily live productions.
Responsibilities:
• Set up, time, and configure camera components; ensure video signals are correctly aligned
• Operate and maintain video equipment, perform shading and color correction for live feeds
• Execute lighting checks and adjustments before and during shows
• Operate robotic cameras, switch cameras, and patch cables as required
• Collaborate with the production team to achieve the creative vision for broadcasts
• Prepare and organize scripts, camera directions, and show documentation
• Perform minor video engineering tasks as needed
• Communicate and coordinate with technical teams during rehearsals and live productions
• Partner with engineering for equipment setup and oversee proper storage of production gear
• Assist in maintaining high production standards during live events
Qualifications:
• Required:
- Computer proficiency and ability to handle multiple technical tasks
- Available for all shifts, including weekends and holidays, and able to work additional hours with no notice
- Willingness to work on-site in New York City
• Desired:
