Role Purpose
NBCUniversal, one of the world’s leading media and entertainment companies, is seeking to hire a regulatory paralegal for our Washington, DC office.
Job Duties
• Maintain master FCC calendar of license terms and filing deadlines
• Assist with FCC licensing coordination, including proofreading and filing applications and other documents in LMS, ULS and ICFS
• Liaise with company personnel in support of FCC periodic reporting obligations
• Support preparation of regulatory compliance training materials and oversee internal compliance audits periodically
• Monitor FCC Daily Digest, Federal Register and other sources for deadlines and other matters affecting NBCUniversal
• Coordinate with Finance regarding preparation and submission of quarterly and annual Universal Service Fund reports
• Partner with with FCC staff to troubleshoot filing systems and other matters
• Lead coordination efforts for the Regulatory Affairs team’s project management duties
• Provide additional support to the team as needed
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
• 3 years of relevant experience as a paralegal, and/or equivalent experience in a law firm or corporate setting; or a J.D. degree
• Proficiency with software programs, including the suite of programs in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Paralegal certificate preferred
Desired Characteristics
• Experience handling matters before the FCC strongly preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as attention to detail
• Tech-savvy; experience with and/or willingness to utilize technology tools
• Superior organizational skills
• Ability to work both collaboratively, as well as independently based on general guidance and experience
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple simultaneous assignments in a fast-paced environment
This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office, in Washington DC, a minimum of three days per week.
