In addition to our internships being paid, we will also offer the following for our Academic Year interns:

Job Description
Academic Year Internship Program:

• Program Dates: September 16, 2024 â€'' April 18, 2025
• Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.
• Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from New York, NY.

Corporate Functions: NBCUniversal'sCorporate groupsare uniquely positionedat the core ofour organization. Employeeswithin these groups usetheir area ofexpertiseto support all businesses acrossthecompany, keeping the heart of each brand at the forefront. There are also business-specific opportunities available, which may be included in the descriptions below.
Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:
• Global Distribution Domestic Business Affairs: This intern will draft various licensing agreements and other contracts related to film and television licensing to various external partners, including global digital media platforms and local television broadcasters.
• Direct-to-Consumer Business & Legal Affairs:The Peacock Business & Legal Affairs team is divided into three main areas: (1) Product & Technology, (2) Marketing & Partnerships, and (3) Regulatory Compliance & Privacy. The legal intern will support all three legal teams and would report to senior lawyers in each area. Examples of responsibilities will include: drafting general marketing guidance, preparing summaries and self-helps tools, working off company templates to assist with drafting agreements, tracking and summarizing new privacy legislation, creating compliance trainings for client teams, and observing deal negotiations and attorney-client interactions.
• Legal - NBCU News Group: The NBCUniversal News Group Media Law team supports NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, NBCU Local, Telemundo, E! News and Access Hollywood. We empower journalists to publish as much fair and accurate information in the public interest as possible by providing newsgathering advice, pre-publication and pre-broadcast review and newsroom training. We also prepare and negotiate media law agreements (e.g. releases, location agreements), assist with rights management across platforms, support tentpole events (e.g. elections, Olympics), advise on subpoenas, and partner with the Litigation team. News Group interns will assist in all of these areas, with a focus on researching defamation, privacy, IP, newsgathering, access, privilege and regulatory questions.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2024 through April 2025).December 2024 graduates are not eligible for our 2024-2025 Academic Year Program.
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States throughout the entire duration of the internship (September 2024 to April 2025). Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 16, 2024 to April 18, 2025.
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
Desired Characteristics:
• Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Self-starter, professional, and ability to adapt.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• For Direct-to-Consumer Business & Legal Affairs: Must be a J.D. candidate in good standing, preferably a 2nd or 3rd year law student; Must be located in New York, DC, or Los Angeles and willing to work from the office on a hybrid/in-person basis; Experience in technology and advertising/marketing or intellectual property a plus.
