is looking for a Multiplatform Sports MMJ / Producer who can truly do it all - report, shoot, write, edit, produce, and create content across broadcast, digital, and social platforms.
This is a hybrid role, split between field reporting and in-house producing, ideal for a journalist who sees sports as more than highlights - someone who can tell compelling stories about the people, issues, and culture shaping sports in a major market.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced newsroom, embraces multi-platform storytelling, and brings a strong understanding of the Philadelphia sports landscape.
This is a Thursday-Monday schedule, requiring flexibility for nights, weekends, holidays, and major sporting events.
Primary Responsibilities
• Generate and pitch original sports story ideas; research, schedule, and conduct interviews
• Report, write, shoot, and edit sports stories for broadcast, digital, and social platforms
• Produce sports content, including sportscasts, segments, and shows, under tight deadlines
• Cover live sporting events and breaking sports news with urgency and accuracy
• Deliver live reports and storytelling that is compelling, engaging, and authentic
• Create consistent digital and social content to expand reach and audience engagement
• Actively use social media as a reporting tool and platform to promote stories
• Build and maintain relationships with athletes, teams, and key community sources
• Follow ongoing stories and develop enterprise content beyond day-of coverage
• Work collaboratively across newsroom teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Ensure all content complies with NBCUniversal standards, editorial guidelines, and journalistic ethics
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in sports reporting, MMJ work, and/or news/sports production
• Proven ability to write, shoot, edit, and produce content independently
• Experience producing sportscasts or newsroom content under deadline pressure preferred
• Strong knowledge of sports, with the ability to cover both breaking news and enterprise stories
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must be willing to work at the NBC10 Philadelphia station
• Must be 18 years or older and have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
• Willingness to join AFTRA as this position may be covered by the AFTRA collective bargaining agreement
