Responsibilities
Role Purpose
The Manager of Communications is responsible for the development and implementation of press campaigns and strategies for NBCUniversal's Scripted content across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about television, is in touch with the changes and trends in TV industry with growth of streaming and social platforms, and can execute creative, multi-pronged, consumer and targeted DEI press and promotional strategies to maximize exposure and awareness of assigned projects.
This position is based in Universal City, CA and will report to the Vice President of Communications.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and implement innovative press campaigns and strategies for scripted programming across multiple platforms including, but not limited to, NBC, USA, SYFY.
- Identify, pitch, and secure press opportunities for cast, producers, key storylines or guest-arcs with national, local, digital and broadcast media.
- Create and supervise press activities for series including interviews, set-visits, photo shoots, press tours and on-set visits.
- Copy editing all written press materials for assigned TV projects, including media alerts, releases, press strategies, bios, episode descriptions, notes and letters to member of the press
- Work closely with NBCU TV Group's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategic Communications team in support of show, cast and behind-the-lens talent.
- Media train and prepare talent and executives for interviews, appearances, panels, press junkets, festivals and conventions
- Proactively monitor and identify breakthrough trends and social media and digital opportunities to maximize series coverage.
- Service daily media requests and act as network source of information on programs.
- Partner and collaborate with internal cross-functional departments to execute shared goals and strategies.
- Cultivate relationships with talent, producers, PR agencies and talent representatives, agents, managers, production companies, media and programming executives.
- Coordinate press efforts with outside PR agency to successfully execute show campaign strategies.
- Assist department on special events including premiere and finale parties, press stunts, red carpets, Upfront events and Television Critics Association.
- Monitor competitive environment via daily review of competitive/industry news.
- Additional duties assigned as needed.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 4 years of experience in PR/Communications in the television, entertainment or related industries.

- Extensive relationships with a broad range of national and local press outlets, reporters, bloggers, bookers and producers.
- Experience interfacing with high-profile talent, top industry executives and media.
- Ability to prioritize and juggle numerous projects and deadlines in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and with a team.
- Ability to exercise a high level of discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously, while meeting deadlines.
