VP, Human Resources UPG Brand Development
Role Summary
This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to help lead the growth of the Brand Development portfolio of Universal Pictures and its partners. Expectation is that individual will have experience, judgement, presence, stature and capacity to lead the people strategy globally for Universal Brand Development group, including the fast growing consumer products, licensing, promotions and kids/family production units. Serving as business partner to the President Universal Pictures Brand Development, this role will work in collaboration with global NBCU partners, and act as coach and sounding board to senior leaders across the Brand Development group as the business expands its footprint in territories across the globe. This position will report to the head of Human Resources for Universal Filmed Entertainment and will operationally support the President, UPG Brand Development. This position is based out of Universal Studios in Universal City, CA.
Responsibilities
• Operate as a business partner to President UPG Brand Development; acting as strategic people adviser in all key areas of responsibility including evolving new lines of business and expanding global footprint.
• Advise and help facilitate with SMT strategic planning, developing and driving the people strategy across all units and territories by spending time in the business, understanding their structure, markets and challenges.
• For international territories partner with NBCU International HR team and together drive the people agenda across the globe.
• Partner with talent acquisition and talent development to attract and develop a leading class organization.
• Manage talent agenda, partnering with leaders to identify key talent and development needs that drive business results.
• Facilitate a robust on boarding and assimilation process for all new comers and ensure focus on direction, alignment and commitment to the future of the business.
• Ensure successful and efficient delivery of HR work streams. Uncover, assess and propose opportunities for HR process improvements to include adaptation of new technologies, workflows, staffing models and organizational structures.
• As a senior leader on the HR team actively participate and take owner ship of certain key cyclical activities and ensure continued process improvement in functional areas as well as the overall employee experience.
• Partner with NBCU HR community to work collaboratively across HR functional areas of expertise and drive wider HR agenda.
• Work with Legal & Business Affairs to support Integrity issues throughout the business (including training & policy implementation as well as investigation of employee relations issues).
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Related Field of Study
• Minimum 15 years relevant HR experience with global exposure
• Prior media/entertainment and consumer goods industry experience
