Full Time Paid Internship
Responsibilities
DreamWorks Animation seeks an Intern for Production Technology in Glendale, CA. Intern will observe and assist software developers writing cutting-edge tools for a next-generation production pipeline in order to gain an understanding of their daily activities. Intern will learn how to develop tools for large-scale, feature animation production through such activities as requirements gathering, user experience research, design proposals, and code reviews. Intern will gain firsthand experience working in a fast-paced, creative environment while being exposed to various production workflows and strategies.
Responsibilities:
• Design and develop new software tools and applications to assist artists in production
• Test, debug, and extend existing tools and systems
• Provide support for any additional administrative and data-wrangling tasks as needed
Qualifications
/Requirements
• Major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Visualization or Digital Media (or equivalent)
• Experience programming in a variety of languages, namely C , Python and/or JavaScript
• In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree (or equivalent), or be a recent graduate (within six months of graduation date)
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Ability to commit 12 weeks to the internship and work onsite in Glendale, CA
• Ability to work full time (40 hours/week) from June - August
• Ability to provide own relocation, housing and transportation
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without a Visa or sponsorship
Desired Characteristics
• Web development experience is a major plus
• Experience with project-tracking software such as Jira or equivalent
• Understanding of digital content creation applications such as Maya, Houdini, and/or Nuke
• Interest in Feature Animation
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently
• Solid grasp of revision control systems such as Git
• Understanding of digital content creation applications such as Maya, Houdini, and/or Nuke
• Familiarity with User Experience (UX) concepts and/or User Interface (UI) design and development
