Part Time Paid Internship
Responsibilities
Hereyoucan contribute as a problem solver and innovator. Our Internship program will give you access to the best in the business and hands-on training. We are looking for Interns who are enthusiastic, creative and savvy.
This Internship will run from mid-March to mid-October, working two days per week.
Focussed primarily on our Australian and New Zealand channels businesses, including E!, Universal TV, Oxygen, Bravo (NZ) and Hayu, the Legal Intern will work with our local Legal and Business Affairs team in supporting our various commercial teams across a wide variety of legal, compliance and business affairs matters, in an exciting and fast-paced office.
• Review of key business contracts, including program licences, research, marketing and general services agreements, and maintenance of NBCU contract database.
• Assistance with company administration and corporate secretarial document and compliance matters.
• Research on key legal developments, and preparation of briefing notes for NBCU legal team.
• Assistance with drafting of legal policies and legal training materials, and assist in provision of staff training.
• Assistance with rights clearance matters, preparation of crew and participant releases, administration of marketing competitions and related initiatives.
• Ad hoc filing, administrative and general team-support responsibilities.
• Liaising with external licensors, suppliers and customers as required.

QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
Currently completing a territory degree in Law in New South Wales, second year or later.
Preference given to students who have successfully completed Contract Law, and Media Law / Intellectual Property Law subjects.
Experience in reviewing and drafting of contracts, and in the preparation of written legal advice, acquired on-the-job or through course work.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
You must be currently studying at an Australian Tertiary Institution.
Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
