Act Two Consultant, Operations & Technology
The Act Two career relaunch program at NBCUniversal is a 6-month paid, fixed-term role for experienced professionals returning to the workforce after taking time off for personal reasons such as caregiving. The program is open to women and men who have at least 5 years of professional experience and have been out of the paid workforce (in an office/ corporate environment) for at least two years to focus on caring for a child or another dependent. As a Sr. Business Data Analyst for the Data Analytics & Insights team, you will support and help drive educated decisions and operational excellence for West Coast Studio Operations (production services, post production, lighting & grip, property, wardrobe/costume, transportation, finance, and IT). You will be responsible for creating, maintaining and automating operational metrics and reports used in translating data into actionable insights, provide recommendations and support implementation and ROI assessment of cross functional projects / initiatives and operational processes targeted to reduce cost, raise OCF margins, and optimize the client experience. In collaboration with more senior members of the team, you will participate in and support internal client engagements to identify analytical requirements and assist in implementing systems to capture business operation information for ongoing operations and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
• Performs business analysis using various techniques, including statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, data mining.
• Collect business requirements and define operating metrics / KPIs. Provide timely and accurate reports, dashboards, KPIs, operational scorecards, and other leading indicators that report historical performance, as well as provide insight into future trends.
• Create data requirements, dictionaries and ensure that data coming into the system is clean and accurate, and maintain ongoing data hygiene.
• Consolidate large amounts of data from multiple source systems and design tools to aid in the analysis and consumption of this data, as well as continually work to optimize internal reporting tools.
• Perform ad hoc data research, put discovered data together, and organize it so that it's ready to analyze.
• Support the creation of presentations for operational reviews and strategic initiatives across organizational teams from diverse backgrounds and levels of responsibility.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in business analytics, business planning or operations, solving operational/data problems, building business requirements and standardizing business reporting and processes.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics is preferred.
• High proficiency in data analysis, modeling and reporting. Ability to define problem, collect data, and provide creative solutions.
• Methodical and process oriented with superior attention to detail and strong organization skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, projects, ad hoc assignments, and deadlines.
• Proficient in MS Office with advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, SQL and Tableau. Skilled in developing PowerPoint presentations that effectively communicate ideas using graphs, charts, and other data visualization techniques.
• Knowledgeable in SQL and/or Business Objects tools and technical aptitude to advance skillset for ad-hoc queries.
Desired Characteristics
• Prior experience working with JIRA and Confluence, QlikView and NPrinting technologies.
• Knowledge of Studio departments, workflows, functions, and technologies.
• Experience in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Film & Broadcast Technology, Engineering or related field.
• Experience working with information technology systems, specifically databases and enterprise reporting tools.
