News Operations Associate, E! News & Online
Responsibilities
The News Operations Associate will be responsible for newsgathering for all E! platforms. The right candidate should be able to multitask, have a proven editorial judgment, be a forward thinker and have a strong work ethic. A passion for pop culture is a must. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter who can work independently and quickly in a fast-paced news environment. Candidates must have newsroom experience and be able to handle breaking news and work under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities:
• Have a wide-ranging network of sources to break news and/or provide reporting on stories of interest across all E! platforms (digital, linear, and social)
• Work with and develop sources in law enforcement and other agencies
• Gather various editorial elements including magazine assets, photos and/or video for online and broadcast, as well as generating story ideas
• Have a strong background in newsgathering using social media
• Should be familiar with the court system(s), PACER and Nexis-Lexis
• Be able to contribute to digital, if necessary, as a writer/editor
• Highly adaptable and able to handle breaking news or shifting priorities across all platforms
• Comfortable interviewing person(s) of interest, attorneys, experts, and celebrities
• Develop and maintain working relationships with magazine and event PR contacts
• Monitor competitor websites, news wires, and various social media channels
• Deep knowledge and familiarity pop culture events and celebrity news
Qualifications
/Requirements
• Bachelor's degree
• 1 year newsroom experience and/or related field.
• Position is full-time, Thursday to Monday.
• A background in news, entertainment news and/or related field
• Strong knowledge of pop culture, celebrity news and the E! brand
• Working knowledge of Slack, Outlook, Excel, Google Docs and iNews
Eligibility Requirements

• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
