Responsibilities
The Human Resources Manager provides HR Business Partner support for the back-of-house client groups including USH Corporate Functions and Universal Creative. This role has a special emphasis on leadership/employee development, employee relations, talent acquisition partnership and succession planning, policy compliance, and performance management.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide HR counsel to Managers on employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of policies and practices; investigate employee relation issues including claims of harassment, discrimination, and policy violations
• Provide advice and consultation to exempt and non-exempt employees on policy interpretation, performance coaching, conflict resolution, and career development
• Lead employee lifecycle processes for client groups by collaborating with other internal HR teams including Talent Acquisition, HRIS, L&OD teams; lead processes including compensation planning, performance management, succession planning, and annual engagement survey for client groups
• Manage HR Coordinator with emphasis on professional development, coaching, and performance management; provide guidance to resolve day-to-day issues in support of back-of-house HR pod
• Champion employee engagement efforts by supporting management with communication and action planning; collaborate with management on initiatives to improve employee morale
• Act as liaison between clients and core staff functions by rolling out company initiatives related to career development, recognition programs, payroll, benefits, training, and staffing
• Build bench strength within client groups by identifying training and development opportunities; foster a culture of collaboration, intellectual curiosity, and alignment with USH core values
• Collaborate with internal UPR and NBCU teams including finance, senior leadership, and peers across HR community
• Partner with Labor Relations to ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements for union employee populations within back-of-house
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local laws; maintain data integrity
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
/Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree required
• 5 years of Human Resources experience
• Experience with employee relations, staffing, performance management, and compensation
Desired Characteristics
• Experience with union workforce preferred
• Demonstrated ability to drive HR processes and deliver high quality HR services in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
• Sound judgement with ability to make decisions and mitigate risk
• Strong facilitation, influencing, and conflict resolution skills
• Demonstrated ability to influence, coach and counsel both employees and management
• Takes ownership; able to establish self as the ‘go-to' HR resource for client organizations
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with SAP or HRIS systems
