Responsibilities
This internship will enable you to bring your theoretical learning to practice within a small but dynamic Operations department. Here the logistics are smoothly dealt with for our physical Home Entertainment products of Universal and Paramount in the Benelux.
Our goal is to maintaining optimal inventory management in a timely manner in close liaison with suppliers, distribution centre and internal departments, to ensure an efficient flow in our Supply Chain, delivering our customer on time to service the consumer; this needs to be done at the best possible cost, with some levels of complexity which we're happy to share with you!
We have changed our manufacturing and distributor last year, but 'the dust has not settled yet'!
Qualifications/Requirements
Projects we want you to drive and make the difference:
- Partner up with our Supply Chain team (internal / external) on a project of measuring our Distribution to Customer efficiencies, by analysing the 'cost to service' and see what changes should be done to optimise.
- Partner up with our Demand Planner to focus on our inventory procurement for campaign-activity and liaise with sales to analyse sales & customer forecast behaviour, comparing the actual customer orders we got.
- Inventory reduction plan: support on the review of potential overstock and inventory levels in general
Day-to-day work activities:
- Liaise with Marketing for any missing artwork elements, product changes etc.
- Follow-up on bill-of-materials (the recipe of how our product is manufactured) the orders with vendors, to ensure timely delivery;
- Placing orders of print components for production in vendor-system;
- Valuation of stocks (product cost) in our SAP system, with tracking information from suppliers;
- Maintaining stock levels, based on demand, sales plans, actual customer orders and existing stocks;
- Liaise with Sales / Mkt / DC for upcoming market-wide and customer specific promotions, special deals and forecasts;
- Recurring reporting and frequent ad hoc to both internal and external departments on stock numbers (i.e. available stock, expected delivery date, stock forecast, etc.);
- Other related tasks as required.
Qualifications
- 3rd or 4th year Bachelor student; International Business, Logistics, Economics, Business Administration or comparable;
- Minimum availability for internship: 20 weeks, no maximum timeframe;
- Persuasive communicator: ability to work across functions and work with external stakeholders;
- Problem solving skills and able to work to tight deadlines;
- Analytical and focused thinker;
- Rigorous, accurate and organised;
- Enjoys working within a team, but is able to work independent as well. Contributes to great team atmosphere;
- Fluent in English both speaking & writing;
- Systems: Quick learner and affinity with systems (SAP). Advanced knowledge of Excel is a big plus!
