Position: HR Director, Human Resources (International Studios, Hayu)
Reports: VP HR, NGDI
Location: London
OVERVIEW
The HR Director will develop and drive the people and talent strategies for NBCU's International Studios and hayu businesses. This role will partner closely with key executives including the President and Chief Operating Officer for the Int'l Studios organization and SVP Branded On-Demand for hayu. Key focus areas are driving an inclusive and supportive culture, identification and hiring of both internal and external talent, creation of HR programs specific for employees supporting the Studios and hayu businesses, and developing a strong relationship with partners in talent acquisition, executive search, compensation, employment law, etc.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• As the HR Director, partner senior leaderships teams on the key objectives and strategy for the organizations, ensuring that the HR initiatives and programs are clearly aligned with those priorities.
• Play a key role in leading talent review, compensation, performance management processes and providing support and input for the businesses strategic business projects and long-term planning and budgeting processes.
• Where required manage HR due diligence and transaction support for M&A or divestment activity, including integration and change management
• Helping identify training needs and build into training plan for the business.
• Deliver on unique HR needs for each of the businesses, while continuing to find areas of synergy / overlap
• Participate in and be a thoughtful contributor at key senior management meetings.
• Partner/collaborate with HR colleagues across NBCUniversal to drive projects and bring initiatives to fruition
• Ensure the delivery of training initiatives including Respect in the Workplace training
• Line management, development and oversight of day to day activity of HR Generalist
• For Studios group, leading and overseeing the activity of HR Directors managing employee populations in LA and Australia
• Provide advice and coaching to senior leaders, managers and employees on all matters related to employee and organizational development.
• Work with leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive work environment which encourages the full use of the organizations diverse talents and abilities
• Act as an employee advocate while driving various corporate and division business initiatives
• Create and execute on Employee Survey action plans and driving engagement and communications activities throughout the division
• Partnering the specialist HR teams when setting up in new territories to ensure effective deployment of new and existing talent.
PERSONAL PROFILE
• Experience of operating at leadership level within a business(es), as a key member of the leadership team
• Demonstrates ability to interact with a range of personalities and styles and be able to establish effective relationships at all levels, responding effectively and timely to demanding internal clients and external partners.
• Ability to identify key priorities within a heavy HR workload and execute on them
• Must have worked in a creative, media, fast paced globally matrixed industry
• Must be a tenacious operator, able to quickly build credibility and be an engaging communicator who can engender trusted relationships with senior leaders.
• Thorough understanding and significant experience of employment law within the UK
• Ideally have experience of partnering Studio, production company, broadcaster or distributor handling film and/or television matters and associated HR challenges including production deal knowledge
• Ideally have experience of working with digital employee populations, including organisations in 'scale-up' stage
• Commercially aware with proven ability to identify and drive HR strategy within a global environment
• Proven ability to manage change in a fast-paced, growth environment with the flexibility to adapt to meet the needs of the organization
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results for multiple clients simultaneously
• Executive presence and judgement to really drive the People Agenda. But always with a sense of humour and 'can do' approach
• Proven influencer; demonstrated ability to coach and counsel both employees and executive-level management
• Takes ownership; able to establish self as the 'go-to' HR resource for client organizations
• Strong business acumen, facilitation, conflict resolution and communication skills
• Possess a natural, yet professional ease at working with and relating to the needs of employees in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Demonstrable ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including internationally, to engage resources to deliver solutions for client groups
