Responsibilities
NBC Sports Chicago, is looking for a Director of Studio Content to lead day-to-day studio production on NBC Sports Chicago. This role produces original video and programming as well as works with partners across multi-platform, audio, Live Event and Programming to source engaging content. In addition to production, the Director of Studio Content will work with sales and marketing departments to monetize content in efforts to fulfill sponsorship requests. Preferred candidates will have a broadcast journalism background with experience leading a newsroom type environment while working under strict deadlines on a daily basis.
The Director of Studio Content role requires extreme attention to detail and the ability to thrive in an independent, deadline-oriented setting.
Responsibilities
• Drive editorial content for day-to-day live studio programming on NBC Sports Chicago
• Work closely with VP of Content, Director of Digital Content and other leadership team members to prioritize and drive strategy for all linear content both short term and long term
• Work on long-term story development, presentation and special events planning
• Work closely with sales management to drive all initiatives and integration of elements throughout the shows
• Supervise and lead newsroom staff of Producers, Associate Producers, and Production Assistants, including performance reviews, daily scheduling, etc.
• Oversight of show production
• Must possess the ability to work effectively with on-air talent
• Produce original content for Chicago sports fans.
Qualifications
/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a manager in a TV newsroom in a large market
• Prior experience as a Producer
• Strong understanding of digital and social media platforms and ability to incorporate into programming.
• Must be able to work flexible non-traditional hours (nights, weekends, holidays) and be on-call for breaking news.
