Responsibilities

The NBC News digital politics team is seeking an ambitious reporter to break news and produce exclusive reporting.

This reporter must be experienced, creative and eager to produce high-impact reporting on the federal government â€'' including the White House, Congress and U.S. departments and agencies â€'' with the work to prove it. The ideal candidate writes clearly and with nuance, has sources throughout Washington, and possesses the ability to produce breaking news and authoritative, in-depth reporting that resonates. Candidates should possess a competitive spirit, should hate being beat, and have years of experience covering national politics and the federal government. Experience in investigative reporting is preferred.

This job is based in Washington, D.C., and will involve collaboration across many teams at NBC News. Women and diverse candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications/Requirements
• At least nine years experience covering national politics

and the federal government
• Strong journalistic writing skills, research skills and

editorial judgment

exclusive journalism on a politics beat
