Responsibilities
Role Summary
The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for providing broad HR transactional and operational support for the team, specifically focused on supporting NBC News. This role will also support the L&OD programs & initiatives for the NBC News employee population.
Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Provide day to day HR support for all clients, including recruitment, on-boarding, off-boarding, compensation analysis, performance management and reporting/analytics
• Support HR team on staffing activities, as need, including writing job descriptions and posting roles, screening candidates, supporting the offer process, and liaising with the hiring managers for both staff and temporary roles
• Participate in and support key HR initiatives, to include performance management, succession planning & compensation planning for assigned client groups and as necessary
• Conduct employee training, as needed, on topics such as performance management, benefits, mentoring, staffing processes, etc.
• Provide support to onboard, separate, and update employees in all applicable HR systems, as required including leaves
• Maintain and administer all transactions related to visa and green card processing
• Work on special projects, as assigned

• BA/BS degree
• 2 years working within the HR function

• Project and process management skills, demonstrated track record of delivering results
• Strong employee-relations skills; must be approachable and able to earn trust and credibility with employees in the organization
• Experience working with union-represented or mixed populations
• Highly resourceful and organized with exceptional follow-through and attention to detail
• Able to deal effectively with conflict and manage difficult employee relations situations
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Extremely flexible, highly organized, and able to easily shift priorities
• Exceptional communication skills, with the professional savvy of communicating at all levels
• Possess a natural, yet professional ease at working with and relating to the needs of employees in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
