The NBC News Digital Video team is seeking an experienced and creative Executive Producer, to oversee the creation and expansion of social video. This new role will report to the lead of Digital Video.
Responsibilities
May Include, But Are Not Limited To:
• Build, manage and mentor the social video team responsible for original social video for NBC News, our GenZ news brand Stay Tuned, and MSNBC.
• Evolve the overall social video presence of these 3 news brands with a focus on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.
• Work closely with the lead of digital video to craft a social video strategy â€'' and constantly evolving that strategy to experiment and adjust to find new audiences.
• Identify and work with a diverse set of on-camera voices on the social team and throughout the organization to craft and hone the voice and style for each news brand organic to the specific social platforms.
• Experiment with new formats native to each social platform and others which may not exist yet.
• Own the social content calendar for all original social videos â€'' collaborating closely with our social team on story selection and treatment while coordinating the rollout strategy. You will also collaborate with the Supervising Producer of Stay Tuned on original social video content for that brand.
• Oversee the process from assignment, production, to the social rollout strategy.
Own the production process â€'' including keeping it on budget.

• Candidates should have 5 years experience directing
social editorial and/or production teams.
• At least 5 years experience with directly managing a
team.
• At least 5 years experience working in the online news,
media, or direct-to-consumer space.
• Should be familiar and live in the ecosystem of social
platforms and consume that content regularly â€''
especially TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
• Ability to identify news moments and figure out the best
companion social video when needed.
• Candidates should be prepared to describe examples of
delivering quantifiable results through the creation,
implementation, and day-to-day management of large-
scale, social media accounts for news outlets or content
brands.
