Iheart Desk Producer, News Channel

Responsibilities
NBC News Channel, in partnership with iHeartMedia's “24/7 News Network”, is posting a position for Desk Producer to facilitate content sharing between NBCU News Group and iHeartMedia radio affiliates. Role will spend time with both NBC News' and iHeartMedia's bureaus, and role will have the opportunity to work with the newsgathering organization across both companies.

Responsibilities include:
• Identify daily content available to iHeartMedia from NBC resources (NBC network, News Channel, CNBC, MSNBC, OTS)
• Knowledge of daily content flow within NBC News, News Channel, and iHeart
• Focus on national stories using resources of NBC News Channel
• Inform iHeartMedia's 24/7 News Source and the NBC Newsgathering Desk of audio coverage and live coverage options (news conferences, interviews, hearings)
• Produce and write brief coverage reports and news summaries for iHeartMedia, working with NBC News DC reporters/NBC News Channel reporters/OTS
• Support News Desk of both operations as needed

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years experience
• College degree
• Ability to work flexible hours based on news coverage demands
• Position is located in Washington, DC
• Strong writing skills
• Strong editorial judgment, including ability to identify useful news clips for radio
• Understanding of radio news demands
