Responsibilities
The Commerce team for the NBC News Group is looking for an organized and eager Commerce Associate to join our rapidly growing group. This person will work closely with the Commerce Insights Associate and Commerce Analytics Manager to help strategically grow the e-commerce business across Today.com/shop, NBCNews.com/shopping and CNBC.com/Select.
In this position you will work closely with product, business and editorial teams to identify growth areas and help enhance the current affiliate efforts through new product opportunities, new website features, new partnership opportunities, etc. You will also help the editorial team understand and execute on new product launches in the CMS and help them build out shoppable executions on digital. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with the ability to think outside of the box for creative solutions to everyday problems.
This team balances a lot of priorities and is responsible for managing expectations between different stakeholders. In a month, the person in this role could be responsible for everything from suggesting improvements to reader experience, recommending enhancements to editorial workflow, proposing new categories to test and existing content to expand on, doing discovery around new tools to develop, pushing alerts to Apple News and TODAY text subscribers, etc.
Job Description:
• Regular meetings with Product and testing of new tools to ensure they are launch ready
• Assist with the onboard of new business partners
• Work with editorial team to fix problems as they arise
• Regular article pitching to our publishing partners
• Regular data analysis to search for coding and API ingest errors to ensure our reporting and performance is as accurate as possible
• Ad hoc reporting on various projects to keep the team aware of what is working and to identify new testing ideas/opportunities
• Work with social, SEO and audience development teams to identify new ways to reach potential readers based on actionable insights
• Help identify industry trends and areas of opportunity for each website individually
Qualifications
/Requirements
• 1 year experience in a professional setting
• Experience working in spreadsheet tools (ie. Microsoft
Excel and Google Sheets) and data visualization
software (ie. Looker and Domo) required
• Experience working with an ecommerce publisher a plus
• Experience in affiliate marketing a plus

• Ability to manage different tasks at once
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across
multiple teams
• Knowledge of affiliate marketing platforms a plus
