The Senior Writer, Creative Content at NBC Entertainment sits on the writing team within the Creative Content group and supports our marketing initiatives across multiple platforms. This position will be a senior member of a writing team that collaborates closely and exchanges ideas daily. The Senior Writer is a dynamic storyteller who is able to master the NBC voice and engage new and existing audiences for NBC shows with fresh ideas and polished writing.
Responsibilities:
• Attend meetings, approve creative, and act as the writing team’s point person when the Editorial Director is unavailable
• Display an expertise in multiple styles of writing, including traditional marketing copy, as well as conceptual promo materials and scripts
• Act as the point person for all writing needs on assigned NBC shows, from pre-premiere to the season finale and beyond; become an expert in the characters, talent, storylines, popular moments, and more
• Lead group brainstorming sessions for assigned shows; contribute to all other brainstorming sessions
• Craft and edit writing with a clear understanding of the NBC brand voice
• Proofread copy, ads, and other marketing tactics with a fine-tuned attention-to-detail, signing off before they are shipped
• Partner closely with multiple teams and departments to tailor writing to different audiences and platforms while staying aligned with approved strategy
• Work seamlessly with creative directors, producers, editors, and fellow writers
• Stay on top of cultural, digital, and social trends to identify content and messaging that will appeal to our viewers

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
• 5 of experience writing for an entertainment or gaming company, creative agency, or in-house creative studio
• Strong leadership skills
• A proactive sense of urgency when it comes to projects, deadlines, and assignments
• Strong proofreading skills with an eye for grammatical and visual details
• A flair for short and sweet copy that speaks to both traditional and digital-first audiences
• An eye for visual storytelling and understanding of how to craft fan-centric content
• An affinity for strategic thinking and a grasp of how messaging relates to images
• Writing samples that showcase your voice and range
• Think strategically and be an independent problem-solver
• Navigate feedback gracefully while managing quick deadlines, approvals, and last-minute changes
Desired Characteristics:
• A basic understanding of digital video production and post-production
• The ideal candidate will love TV!
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Final Draft, Airtable, Veritone, Frame.io, Dropbox, Adobe Premiere, TikTok, and YouTube
Additional Requirements:
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $110,000 - $125,000 (bonus eligible)
