The Opportunity
We are seeking a Lead Screenings Event Staff member (otherwise known as a ''Lead Screener'') to join our screenings team. This team ensures the success of our in person and online theatrical screening business, which is an important part of NRG's history in pioneering the Hollywood research industry. Movie studios and other clients rely on our data-driven services as an industry standard for the business of making and selling movies that has stood the test of time and continues to fuel today's global film business.
This role would provide operational support for in person screenings research events with recruited audiences. In person screenings typically take place in the Los Angeles area including but not limited to Northridge, Sherman Oaks, San Bernardino County, Orange County, Long Beach and other districts.
Your Impact
-Handle some in office prep work at our Burbank office before departing for the screening event venue, including stuffing envelopes, prepping our tablet survey technology and providing light back up for phone support and data entry.
-Execute various in theater movie screenings assignments well, including but not limited to prepping the theater, checking people in, managing the line, passing out and collecting NDAs, directing clients and audience members to their seats, directing people to focus group tables when needed, handling demographic balancing and distributing and collecting surveys.
-Manage Screenings Events Staff members when directed by the Screenings team, including delegating tasks to them, being their point of contact for questions and ensuring that the event is running smoothly.
-Provide positive customer service for clients and audience members during screening events.
-Communicate with clients on research screenings needs.
-Provide onsite assistance with data tabulation (paper questionnaires) or data downloads (tablet questionnaires).
-Assist with accurate counting and tabulating of audience members, theatre seats, audience surveys and more.
-Comfortable around computers, scanners and tablets, including setting them up, troubleshooting and packing up technology with care.
-Stay abreast of entertainment industry/social media trends, theatrical release calendar, and weekly trailer launches.
-Willingness to travel to out of town screening events when needed, which can be a 2-3 day commitment.
Who We're Looking For
-Experience - We'd love for you to have 1-3 years of relevant administrative experience, ideally at an entertainment or digital media company.
-Your degree(s) - Ideally looking for a B.A./B.S. degree.
-Passion - An enthusiasm for motion pictures and the entertainment industry is required. You live and breathe all things entertainment and enjoy staying up to date on industry trends and developments. Small talking or deep diving on entertainment fuels you.
-Reliability and Punctuality - We expect our Lead Screenings Event Staff member to show up to various screening events they are supporting on time.
-Customer Service - Strong customer service skills as there will be communication with clients and the general public. Event experience is beneficial.
-Leadership - Able to direct, manage and motivate a team of Screenings Event Staff when needed.
-Problem Solving - Ability to remain calm and collected under pressure is crucial. You are able to address issues while staying positive and professional.
-Tools - Computer skills including using the entire Microsoft Suite- Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint. You are proficient in learning new department specific software.
-Communication - Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required. You will be communicating with colleagues, clients and audience members on screenings research events information and logistics.
-Self-starter - Internally-motivated who continuously strives to get things done well, regardless of challenges encountered. You are able to drive projects to completion with minimal oversight.
-Expert multitasker - Successfully manages time and multiple competing priorities to ensure deadlines are always met.
Hawk-eyed attention to detail - You do all you can to ensure no errors get past you and nothing slips through the cracks.
-Proactivity - You anticipate what needs to get done and take the initiative to complete those tasks.
Physical tasks - You will need to stand on your feet to work events for at least 90 minutes at a time. You also might be asked to perform light physical activities including moving equipment (office supplies and technology).
-Confidentiality - Must maintain screening information confidentially.
-Transportation - Screenings are held in the Los Angeles area including but not limited to Northridge, Sherman Oaks, San Bernardino County, Orange County, Long Beach and other districts. Reliable transportation to screening events will be needed.
-Dress Code - Professional attire is required. Dark (black or dark blue) pants and a provided Uniform shirt/jacket, pants/skirts/dresses must be business-like in appearance (clean and wrinkle free), comfortable shoes that enable you to stand on your feet for long periods of time, no denim clothes, no revealing clothes, no baggy clothing and no flip flops.

Position Type
This is a part-time, hourly non-exempt position with variable work hours based on scheduled screenings and department needs. Hours of work and days vary weekly. You may work roughly anywhere between 0 to 32 hours a week dependent on the amount of screenings we have booked in a week. This person will be required to attend recruited audience screenings in and around Los Angeles and surrounding areas in the evenings and may work Saturdays and Sundays as needed. A willingness to travel for screenings taking place out of town will be needed as well.
Compensation
In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in all locations within the United States for this role is $20-$25 per hour. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
