Full Time Unpaid Internship
JOB DESCRIPTION
The intern for Travel Digital is responsible for managing stories and projects through the publication process across digital platforms. On a daily basis, this means writing, copy-editing as needed, building content in our website CMS, and generally supporting the Travel Digital team.
• Writing, fact-checking, and copy-editing top-quality text to resonate with our audiences across platforms and align with National Geographic's mission.
• Build social-first and SEO-friendly content––including articles, galleries, and other projects––in our website's CMS following our design principles and style guide.
• Support the newsletter production process to grow audience loyalty and increase open rate.
• Monitor emerging trends and the competitive landscape, then ideate new ideas for National Geographic Travel to help shape our editorial strategy.
Qualifications:
While individuals of all academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply, applicants should have prior experience in research or journalism.
• Strong communicator with writing and copy-editing abilities.
• Analytical skills to critically fact-check the accuracy of content and to track traffic performance to make data-informed decisions.
• Highly organized with the ability to handle and prioritize simultaneous projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Self-motivated and resourceful, with the ability to independently solve problems with creative solutions.
• Adept at quickly learning new technologies.
To participate in Fox's Internship program you must meet the following criteria:
• Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university and be sophomore status or above
• Be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship by the Company
• All students must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
