National Geographic Partners LLC (NGP), a joint venture between Disney and the National Geographic Society, is committed to bringing the world premium science, adventure and exploration content across an unrivaled portfolio of media assets. NGP combines the global National Geographic television channels (National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo WILD, Nat Geo MUNDO, Nat Geo PEOPLE) with National Geographic's media and consumer-oriented assets, including National Geographic Magazines and National Geographic Studios. NG Studios produces over 1500 hours of content per year in originals, comps, updates, mashups and reversions. The NG Studios PM team supports 18 producer teams for all specials productions.
The NG Studios Senior Production Manager role supports the in-house NG Studios production department. This includes budget creation and management; negotiating and maintaining contracts with crews and vendors; managing all production logistics; interface with all company partners for approvals and protocols; communicating with internal clients for all production milestones.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
• Create and manage budgets.
• Review and approve invoices and expenses.
• Track all costs and cost report monthly.
• Review contracts vs invoices.
• Use company approved systems such as: SAP and EP.
• Backup invoice submission via SAP.
Production Management:
• Manage both linear network productions as well as D+.
• Liaise with Post-Production in regard to editors, AE and edit rooms scheduling.
• Ensure technical specs for footage and post deliveries are communicated and met.
• Hire: Field crew, Editors, Composers, Graphics.
• Ensure master and all deliverables have been sent on schedule.
• Manage weekly timecards, field contracts,
Corporate Management:
• Liaise with internal insurance, risk management, carbon offset, security, animal use and health & safety departments.
• Ensure all international vendors meet NG/Disney Compliance requirements.
• Communicate production information for cross-platform events.
• Weekly Reporting on active projects.
Requirements:
• 5 years minimum of production management experience running a series or large budget one offs.
• Strong writing, communication, negotiating and corporate liaising skills.
• Strong financial management skills.
• Experienced user of Excel, Outlook and Movie Magic.
• Current understanding of industry standards for edit systems and field production equipment.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, time management.
• Experience with Entertainment Partners an added bonus.
