Role Overview:
The Senior Video Producer is responsible for developing and producing short-form editorial content for National Geographic’s social media accounts, including TikTok and Instagram. The producer will manage the entire production process, from concept development and logistics to editing and delivery.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the production of original social video content, including research, budgeting, logistics, technical production, and video editing.
• Manage freelance and contract talent, scouting and assigning videographers and editors.
• Guide internal producers to maintain the brand’s established tone and approach.
• Ensure productions are completed efficiently, on budget, and within deadlines.
• Lead production meetings, brainstorm creative ideas, and generate innovative approaches for social platforms.
• Collaborate with internal teams on digital visual strategy and audience engagement.
• Communicate with stakeholders at the Director and VP levels, aligning production with editorial priorities.
Basic Qualifications:
• Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate with editorial teams to develop story pitches.
• Proven experience managing videographers, graphic artists, and producers.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, AfterEffects, Illustrator); experience with Capcut is a plus.
• Ability to write engaging scripts tailored for social media platforms.
• Highly organized, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Self-motivated and resourceful, with strong independent decision-making skills.
• Experience and enthusiasm for producing social video content, especially for platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
• Ability to manage legal paperwork and deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Awareness of successful content creators for potential collaborations.
• Experience in media production or video journalism.
