Part Time Unpaid Internship
An opportunity has arisen for an intern to join the National Geographic Europe & Africa Marketing team to support the brand's developing businesses across the region. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to contribute to the development of one the most recognised brands in the world as it expands its media, consumer products and travel business across Europe and Africa.
We are looking for someone who is organised and methodical and sensitive to working in a cross-cultural environment. The role will involve liaising with marketing teams throughout Europe and Africa to share marketing tools and best practice, collate information and support campaigns.
Proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint a must, fluency in English mandatory, additional languages a plus.
Academic background is less important than attitude and enthusiasm and the capacity to use a lively and organised brain and good back office skills. You will do everything from sourcing and organising merchandising, collating information from 15 offices into a powerpoint, instructing freelance staff, to assisting at premieres and meeting National Geographic explorers.
It's a great starting point for anyone wanting to get into media or brand marketing and to help across National Geographic and Nat Geo Wild television channels and the other parts of the National Geographic business (Magazine, Brand Marketing, Trade Marketing, Consumer Products, Travel etc.).
Responsibilities:
Below is a list of the main responsibilities for this internship. This is not an exhaustive list and new or different tasks will be required and explained accordingly:
• Download relevant assets of the main NG priorities and ensure the National Geographic information is organised and up to date.
• Assist with collating and organising information and updates from the regions concerning campaigns, launches, activations, festivals.
• Organise physical stock of magazines, sort, distribute and maintain archive copies.
• Support the Marketing team with the development of Post Campaign reports for NG priority series and presentation decks.
• Provide support to the Marketing Manager for Social Media content agency and be point of contact for any assets requests.
• Liaise with the finance department to ensure all new vendors are set in the relevant systems and assisting with PO set up and invoice processing.
• Assist the Coordinator with researching premiums for National Geographic and manage premiums stock and compliance forms.
• Assist on events with both internal and external stakeholders.
Competence Requirements:
• Extremely organised and methodical
• Excellent Excel and Powerpoint skills
• Ability to create good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• A good knowledge of Social Media and its role in Marketing
• Ability to work creatively and flexibly between different projects
• A passion for Marketing and a keen interest to learn about the business across Europe and Africa
