JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilites:
• Develop, oversee, and execute original immersive productions, including research, budget recommendation, planning, coordinating logistics, technical production, and video editing.
• Scout, vet, assign and manage freelance and contract talent.
• Guide internal producers to develop stories that follow the established tone and approach.
• Manage editorial partnerships with external technology and media companies.
• Ensure production is executed efficiently, on budget and meets established deadlines and deliverables.
• Ensure editorial and visual consistency across multiple platforms.
• Lead production meetings, brainstorm creative and innovative approaches and generate new ideas for immersive digital experiences.
• Contribute to and execute digital visual strategy.
• Keep track of editorial priorities, identify production alignment, and communicate with internal stakeholders at the Director and VP level.
• Collaborate closely with audience teams and internal stakeholders on story promotion, audience feedback and analytics.
• Stay up to date on immersive and XR technology and educate colleagues on advancement in the immersive industry.
Minimum Requirements:
• BA required, preferred in journalism or one of our topic areas (science, environment, history)
• Minimum of 5 years of related professional experience in journalism, XR production or gaming
• Ability to collaborate with team of writers, editors, designers, and producers
• Proven ability to manage videographers, graphic artists, and producers
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and video editing
• Familiarity with XR post-production software (Mistika, Reality Capture, Maya, Blender, Unity, Unreal Engine, Cinema 4D, Spark AR, Apple ARKit)
• Familiarity with a variety of immersive video equipment (camera rigs, ambisonic/spatial microphones, field photogrammetry scanning kits)
• Familiarity with immersive platforms such as Spark AR and Oculus as well as digital platforms such as YouTube and Instagram
• Well-defined editorial voice and a strong visual sensibility
• Strong organizational skills
