JOB DESCRIPTION
Supporting National Geographic Content and Disney Branded Television unscripted content PR campaigns, the Coordinator, Communications will be responsible for editing the weekly PR daily internal updates; proofing/formatting all press releases; press release distribution (internally and externally); travel & expense management for VP; print clip management; Critical Mention broadcast clip management; press mailings; travel backup; and EVP administrative support backup. Additional duties include awards management for assigned pods; managing creative and video needs; department liaison with creative team; event support; talent relations support; and media strategy support & execution for assigned series/specials. Finally, to grow in the position, the coordinator will also have the chance to work with more senior members of the team on the production and duplication of publicity materials; publicity outreach to broadcast, print and digital media; and talent management.
Responsibilities:
• Daily administrative support for pod, which includes but is not limited to invoicing, drafting & distributing tune-in alerts and PR updates; proofing/formatting all press releases; press release distribution (internally and externally); travel & expense management for VP; print clip management; critical Mention broadcast clip management; press mailings; travel backup; and EVP administrative support backup.
• Awards management for assigned pods; managing creative and video needs; department liaison with creative team; event support (premiere events, TCA, Upfront, etc); talent relations support; and media strategy support & execution for assigned series/specials.
• Work with more senior members of the team on the production and duplication of publicity materials; publicity outreach to broadcast, print and digital media; and talent management.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree.
• 1+ years of work experience.
• Excellent oral & communication skills.
• Maintaining show budgets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Docs.
• Highly organized, professional, motivated, and extremely detail-oriented with strong prioritization skills.
• Must have ability to multitask, work well under pressure and work effectively under changing priorities, deadlines, and daily time constraints.
