As part of National Geographic Content, National Geographic Studios works closely with the Development, Production and Operations Teams. Main Intern responsibilities are: program assessment, program development, database updating and competitive research. This includes daily interaction with Producers, Associate Producers, Production Management and other departments within NGC as needed.
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of a Producer or Associate Producer, the Studios Intern will assist National Geographic Studios in the assessment, production and editing of programs for linear and streaming platforms. The Intern may also be assigned independent research projects by NG Studios relating to short form media creation, as well as work closely with our Studios Development team to brainstorm new program ideas from existing inventory. In part of this development work, the Intern will stay up to date on competitive non-fiction programming. Duties may include creating papercuts, conforming scripts, supervising edit sessions, updating databases, pre-production prep and edit prep.
Basic Qualifications:
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Analytical and organized
• Ability to handle and prioritize simultaneous projects and meet deadlines
• Self-motivated and resourceful, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment
• Experience in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint), Adobe Premiere Pro
• Adept at learning new software
Required Education
• Be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship by the Company
• 18 years of age or older at the time of the internship
• Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university, and be sophomore status or above
• Able to provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship

Internship Eligibility:
• Be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship by the Company
• 18 years of age or older at the time of the internship
• Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university, and be sophomore status or above
• Able to provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
• Candidate must be available full-time (30-40 hours/week) from June 6th through August 19th
• Must be available to work 30-40 hours week on a hybrid schedule with at least 1 day in person and remaining days remote.
• Ability to provide own relocation, housing and transportation. Position is located in Washington DC.
