Responsibilities:
As a Global Communications intern, you can expect a collaborative experience and to come away fully equipped with the strategy and skills for full-time, entry-level positions within the communications and/or media/content provider industries. You will be tasked with many creative opportunities. These include but are not limited to:
• Working with all members of the communications department (including Channel, Wild, Feature Docs, International) and hand in hand with Marketing Strategy and Talent departments on a variety of assignments and projects, like ''Genius: Aretha''
• Brainstorming creative ideas for unique shows
• Setting up departmental and external meetings and brainstorms
• Tracking and reporting daily media stories
• Development and maintenance of media lists and contacts
• Maintaining awards and festival lists
• Setting up/ adjusting talent & press travel and creating itineraries
• Organizing and sorting digital assets and physical premiums
• Assembling, writing, and distributing press materials and crafting tailored pitches
• Provide admin support for press events (including media tours) - including preparing for the semi-annual Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour in Los Angeles, being held virtually.
• Internal strategy and execution of campaigns
• Helping to staff press bookings (where applicable) virtually
• Understanding and supporting the international communications efforts impacting 171 countries outside the US.
Basic Qualifications:
Candidates must provide a cover letter with the submission of the application
• Interest in the world of television and a passion of National Graphic's mission
• Understanding of extracting USP for any promotable and creative execution of campaign
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Google Suite, Zoom, Slack
• A positive attitude and willingness to work with the team to achieve departmental goals
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to show initiative, multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
• Collaborate with team members on new projects and ideas
• Ability to handle and prioritize simultaneous projects and meet deadlines
• Self-motivated and resourceful, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Global and inclusive world view and willingness to learn about other cultures and the industry around the world
Required Education
• Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Recent Graduates
Additional Information:
Internship Eligibility:
• Candidates must provide a cover letter with the submission of the application.
• At least 18 years of age
• Unrestricted work authorization
• Enrolled in an undergraduate program at a college/university taking at least one class in the semester prior to participation in the internship program, or recently graduated within six months at the time of application.
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
• The candidate must be available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship.
• The dates of this internship are June 6, 2022- August 19, 2022.
